A good job is difficult to find (in general) since if you don't work for a few, you will never know what is a good job meant for you.
Resume, is an extremely important piece of asset you have. Since the potential employer never meet you but a piece of paper describing yourself. Inappropiate resume is also a killing factor. You won't said you are a doctor(althought you are) when applying as a dishwasher in a Chinese restaurant. So, adjust your resume to the appropiate level.
Also, there are different type of resume. Resume to government tended to use a competency-based resume while private sector will pay more attension on technical ones.
I will say, in gernal, each job should customized a resume.
