前屋主欠city的水费为何算在我头上？

请问前屋主欠city的水费为何算在我头上？这$50块欠款我作为新屋主到底应该付还是不付，欠单上说根据某条文规定欠款是房屋使用者支付而不管房屋所有权什么的，好像也没有规定支付期限。如果我不付，对我有何负面影响？

找自己的lawyer,了解为什么前房主没有付这个帐。

Ihave a similar situation. For the 2008 proprty tax adjustment, the bill was sent to current owner, I told them I only lived there about 13 days in 2008, however, the lady who is a worker of city Ottawa told me,"we only sent bill to the current owner. since it is a small amount of money, it is not worth to find a laywer to deal with that."

City of Ottawa has all information about propery occupation, why they are not resiposible for collecting money from right owner, I could not get they are not doing a right thing but they still have an excuse.

Anyway, find your previous lawyer.

You may have to pay for it because water bill is with the property. I believe you may have got the amount back through your property transaction. Commonly, your lawer does it by subtracting the amount from your payment to the previous owner. Check it out before your further action.

你的律师或者律师助理没有告诉你closing之后两个月多后还会收到一张交易最终adjustment的支票？－－那里面会反应这样的一些费用，你打电话去问问，估计他们会告诉你如何处理。

Only view from third party says "she is right", if she orders you to pay whatever you should not pay, you would say she is wrong. it is not an excuse that she did not deliver the bill to a right property owner.

City Ottawa worker neglected to deliver bell and order others to pay they are not suppose to payor or collect money from others, it is a right atittute for city Ottawa worker. it is what I tried to blame.
