From LZ's post, I think it is the other guy's fault. The other guy was tail-gating and LZ was slow.
In the court you might need to draw some big chart for the judge to look at.

BTW, did you suddently decide to change lane and brake too hard?

I guess we Chinese always too "ke qi", and don't want too hard on other people on face. But actually after you called Police, you and the other guy are opponent, he must be tried hard to defend himself at first place. Do you know what he said?

1)你是不是从左道换中道，再换右道，而在中道换右道没有完成时被中道后面的车右前角撞了你车的左后角？

2) 从左道换中道后， 你在中道开了多长？ 比喻有没有50米以上？

设想一下，没有人证物证，如果你是法官，你会如何问、如何判断？

A lie must be made perfectly to convince the judge and you must have the evidence (the damage to the car) to proof it too.

如果＂跟得过近＂，躲开是不可能的。那样的话，方向盘得打多大的角、多么快，才能车角撞车角。

不同事故的发生，在短短的时间内，情况是千变万化的。我想，警察、法官判断事故责任，不会去纠缠细节。关键是搞清楚部分以下事故发生时的决定性因素,来判断事故责任：
１）谁有优先权
２）谁绿灯，谁红灯
２）谁有停牌，谁有让牌、谁没有任何交通指示牌
３）同样情况下，谁有直行、左转、或右转的路权
４）谁换道，谁没有换道、谁直行
５）谁在静止状态（例如停车等交通灯）；谁在行进中
６）是否有人违法驾驶（无执照、酗酒、执照被吊销、执照使用不当）
７）车辆是否合法上路
等等。。。。

Judging from LZ's statement, she's not aware of where the other party was after the accident, she's not aware of where he came from... I hope she doesn't tell this type of info on court...

Can I say this to the court? BTW, I later on found him at the left parking lot, parked there, it's he drove there, not because of hit or whatever.

千万不要对法官、警察这么说。这只能从另外的角度说明，你在没有观察好路况的情况下，换道了。

你的意思是说，他没有停车，没有和你交涉撞车事件，而是你在停车场找到了他？听起来像是 hit and run.
