I think it is the other way round - Kowloon Market and 168 may not survive because their merchandise is essentially the same as T&T, but the shopping environment is horrible. I dare not buy any meat, vegetable, etc. there. Canned and bottled food is fine.

The smaller, Indochinese-owned stores along Somerset Street will be fine because they have their own ethnic customers, and therefore are not in direct competition with T&T.
