Bylaw officers fined Asian food retailer T&T Supermarket $610 for opening Remembrance Day morning. The retailer said later it was unaware the bylaw was different from the one in Toronto, where it also has stores. On Friday, the retailer announced it is donating that morning's profits to Ottawa's Royal Canadian Legion, Dominion Command Poppy Trust Fund. "It was an honest mistake," said spokeswoman Tina Lee, from the company's Scarborough headquarters. She would only say the donation was more than $1,000.
