所谓教育，没有最好，只有最适合的。子非鱼，子亦非吾，基于偏见和假设的帖子，不理也罢。

有一点要澄清一下，以正视听：OCDSB 现在已经不再对每个三年级的孩子进行Canadian Cognitive Abilities Test (CCAT) 普测。所以，如果想了解自己孩子的心智水平，private assessment 可能是很少的几个options 之一。

如果这种评估(CCAT)是科学而客观的，那么一个孩子是通过学校统测还是通过私人心理医生测评达到某一标准，真的又有什么区别呢?!

所以还请有经验的XDJM不吝赐教。QQH也行。谢谢！

大家其实是关心孩子健康发展，没恶意
OCDSB原来也不是对每个孩子测试，是任课老师推荐那么很少几个学生，还先通知家长征求意见是否同意孩子参加测试

For my understanding, if the kid is pass the identification of gifted student by school board, then the kid can apply gifted class for his/her elementary and high school's gifted program, but if the kid is pass by private assessment then when the kid is time to enter high school, the school will request another test to see the kid can apply gifted program or not. I am not sure I made any mistake or not, I just heard it from the high school open day.

以上的gifted是一个好的事情，还是许多不好事情之一。

我是confused了，特别是念了绕口令以后。再一看以上，gifted和chronic illness, phobias, social skills, learning disabilities为伍，我都不明白gifted是好是坏了。

我两个孩子都上过Gifted Program，很不错。

最好是让小孩的“班主任”推荐给校长，校长再推荐给教育局，教育局会派心理医生作评估。

My daugher just passed CAT test in Grade 2

you may send a request to teacher. Teacher then make recommendation. Then your kids takes a CCAT test. BTW my daughter just passed CCAT test. She is in Grade 2.
