Is the textbook helpful. Could one get by without the textbook? Is it worthing buying the textbook?

it depends..if you wann high mark..so book is necessary...it's not my major course, so I dont' care about it, move more time to my major course...anyway I got between A- to A without text book so far
you can ask some advices from economic students, I am from Engineering...so really up to you. good luck

Textbooks are really handy.
The study guides are helpful as well.
If you go through both of them, you'll get an A+ for sure.
