We moved from a townhouse to a single home in Barrhaven. We used A Trinity Moving. We thought this moving company is listed on BBB (Better Business Bureau), therefore, it can be trusted. It turned out to be worst choice we ever made.
We moved on July 30th. Prior to this date, we moved all the boxes ourselves including dishes, clothes, books, small appliances and household itemsbecause we took possession of the new home prior to the closing of our old home. On the moving date, we had ONLY furniture left, 40 pieces together and an upright piano.
We chose the option of 4 men at $125.00. They charge $150 flat fee to move the piano. We thought more menpower equals speedier service, thus, savings on the moving cost. Guess how long it took 4 men to move our furniture? 6.5 hours in total! Can you imagine, it took them 4.5 hours to load and 2 hours to unload.
They are very careful about moving the furniture, everthing was covered by blanket and then shrink-wrapped. But they are slow like snails. Only 2 men out of 4 have more than 2 years of experience. The other 2 just wait around for orders - never took initiatives to move things on their own.
This compnay even tried to charge me for packaging materials (tapes they used to shrink wrap) which I refused bluntly. It is so absurd. In the end, we paid $1087.63 to move our furnitures.
When we triied to contact this company after the move to complain about the speed of the move. The rep told us that our expectaiton (of getting the move done under 4 hour) was unreasonable and that 6.5 hours was reasonable. She said if we do not care to protect the furniture, we should tell them so it will take them less time. What a rediculous argument!
Lessons learned: We are not recommending this company (A Trinity Moving) to anyone. And if you need to hire a moving company, try to get a fix price instead of paying by hour. They may quote a low price but take forever to move. (It is more beneficial to the moving company to move slowly so they can charge you more.)
