My goal is to send my son to Rice U or Duke U. Does anybody know more about these two Universities?
One of my friends is in Rice U. Graduating with a PhD, still having headache finding a job
It is not the higher (degree), the easier(to find a job) or the better(better job or better pay).
I think it depends on what your friend / my son learns. My son wants to be an engineer. Graduated from Algonquin college, I got my government job easily. Some undergraduates can find a job easily, some PHDs can't find a job.

my friend studies Environemntal Engineering.....anyhow, I am not trying to give negative comments on Rice U, but just to say other factors are also important.
By the way, my friend said he enjoys the weather in Huston very much!
But somebody told me the summer in Houston is too hot.
If your friend learned Gas/Oil...
Every family has something to worry about, LZ is worrying about money, for me, I don't know if my son will be admitted. Thanks a lot.
The reason I'm thinking about Rice is Rice is in TX, I think there are jobs in TX???
Who knows if he will get admitted. It is still too early to say, he is in grade 8 now.
Thanks a lot
wow, grade 8 is so young. I bet he still has chances to choose to studying arts instead of engineering
