Class G2 Drivers Licences
Under Ontario Graduated licencing program drivers with a Class G2 licence have strict driving rules. G2 Licence holders must obey the following guidelines or risk losing their driving priveleges.
1. Must have a blood alcohol level of zero at all times, and
2. Must ensure there is only one passenger per seat belt in the vehicle
The passenger restrictions do not apply if the G2 driver is operating a motor vehicle after 5 a.m. and before midnight. and is accompanied by a full "G" licensed driver (with at least four years driving experience) in the front seat, or if the passengers are immediate family members.
Any violation of these conditions upon conviction will result in a thirty (30) day licence suspension.
A second driving offence will result in a six (6) month licence suspension.. A conviction for any of these offences will dramatically effect the insurance rates. An insurance company will percieve that the driver, does not follow the rules placed upon them by the Ministry of Transportation, and Is a a higher risk of being involved in an accident.
As well an offence where alcohol is involved will further dramatically increase the insurance rates as insurance companies will consider the driver a "
drinking driver".
