What is Trust?
If we split the above question into two, we would have:
What does trust mean?
Can we level trust?
To answer the first question would unavoidably bring forward many other questions. Such as: To believe in what he says? To rely on his words? To take his advice? To feel safe telling him secrets? To trust your life in his hands? …
It in fact can vary in many different ways. Simply ask yourself, when you tell someone you trust him, what do you mean by that?
Each person has his very own comfortable zone. With knowing that someone will not hurt you on purpose would be the start point to give him your trust. Again, here trust has many levels.
You are blessed if you have someone you can honestly lean upon without fear or doubt of his love and loyalty. And you can talk about anything, even darkest secret to him and he is not going to judge you or turn back on you and keeping all the secrets.
Some are completely or almost completely trustworthy, some are trustworthy regarding certain issues. It would be devastating to end up trusting someone who does not deserve your trust. When that happens, you need to work on your skills of detection of who’s trustworthy and who isn’t. Bear it in your mind though, trusting means you take risks with that trust. Good or bad, it’s your choice of deciding whom you are going to trust.
To level trust, you name it. To tell him your name? To tell him your telephone number? To tell him where you work and live? To meet him in person? To embrace him with your heart? This is just an example of how you get to know someone not to mention that life goes on in numerous ways…
Nevertheless, this topic can go on and on forever. It’s basically a waste of time trying to analyze it.
Ok let’s make it simple:
First, follow your heart!
Second, follow your heart!
People change. Things change. Trust can also change. You can trust him at one point but may not be at the other point. Face the change that’s what we can do.
Good luck!
