反看NDP 党魁林顿倒有不少可圈可点之处：

税收：从水电气开始，逐步取消HST。要让平凡的老百姓都能真正享受到税收的优惠。

移民/种族和谐：他表示，新民主党的政纲是，要处理父母团聚移民轮候时间过长的问题。不能让父母要等待8年、10年才能和子女团聚，其中还发生老人等不及移民在等待过程中去世的悲剧。

而保守党的移民政策更多考虑经济需要，将重点放在招揽外国临时工人上。新民主党还将改善被保守党政府大幅削减了的新移民安置服务，通过实习计画帮助专业新移民获得加拿大的工作经验.

社会福利/就业：林顿表示新民主党若执政，将增聘更多的医生和护士;改善全国退休金计画，为长者提供更多的退休保障;创造更多的工作机会，为增聘新员工的企业提供资金援助;降低中小企业的税务负担，让普通人得到实惠，而不是为大型企业减税;为信用卡的税率设置让消费者可以承受的上限。

对巨头开刀：除了给大企业增税，调整银行的信用卡借贷利率外，还将通过对大企业设限，改变加拿大的手机、互联网等的费用居全球高位的状况。

开源节流：林顿有望一改保守党穷兵黩武的做法。仅消减购买新式战斗机一项，就能节省几百亿元。这些战斗机除了被美国牵着鼻子去轰炸轰炸南联盟，利比亚这些弱小国家，制造更多难民外，想不出能对加拿大或世界做什么贡献。
