One plain fact is "the Liberals’ solid managing of the economy in the 13 years prior to Mr. Harper’s election is what made Canada especially resilient after the severe 2008 recession". It puzzles me that Grits didn't spin this message at all during the election.

The only thing the liberals did was robbing the tax payers: they overthrown the Tories by promising abolishing GST but did not even bother to initiate the slightest reduction of it in their 13-year rule. Even worse, they cut the healthcare transfers to provinces, increased EI premium ... all in the name of "managing" the deficit.

Well, Canadians are fortunate enough to have the conservatives in the past five years who showed us what is management: cutting taxes while recovering from a worst worldwide recession since early 1900s and coming back to a balanced book at a rate much faster than everybody's expectation at the same time.
