will they require any special reason for applying a multiple entry visa?

I don't think so, as long as you check the multiple entry option on the application form, it will be Ok, and you just need to pay different application fee at the end.

我的理解只是申请费不同，取决于你的回国计划，好像记得多次入境签证只有6个月的期限，不太实用，如果计划下次回国间隔超过6个月，还不如签一次性的。没有去仔细查，以前的印象。

I don't remember the details, but I don't think there has to have specific reasons to apply for the multiple entry visa.
But, it might be depended on the officer in the visa office I guess.
