>UPS sucks
UPS Canada has got a corporate death wish. They are in a continuous
battle with the US main office, and seem to only stop shooting
themselves in the foot to reload and switch feet...
1) The stupid border /customs issues
2) closing local depots, demanding account sign-up before they will
ship to the US
3) Lousy software for small business , mostly incompatible with the US
stuff..
4) that lawsuit against the canadian government and Canpost under
Nafta, now dropped (cant compete, so litigate)
Unlike the the USA, where you could set up an online business in the
Okefenoke swamp and, if you started to ship volume, UPS would go the
distance to set up collection for you, Canadian small businesses have
all but given up on UPS.
But because the USA operations work so well, it is hard to convince
stateside suppliers NOT to ship UPS to canada.. They assume that it
works just as well here..
A pity, only having Canpar/Canpost means that a lot of Canadian small
businesses are running the race with one foot hobbled...
And for the rest of us...
A lot of goodies in the USA are simply unavailable to us because the
stateside supplier will not ship USPO, only UPS..
GRRRRRRR...
