Nepean High School students protest discipline handed out in hazing incident

Students said Mykal, who had just started Grade 12, was driving near the school with two friends last week, throwing eggs at new Grade 9 students. They said Mykal hit the back tire of a student walking a bike.

“We think it’s just completely unfair, because he wasn’t the only one and he’s not going to be the last one to frosh,” said Fatima Allen, who helped organize the protest. “It’s his last year, so this is really ruining his chances with universities and ruining his senior year.”

It's so frustrating reading these articles and seeing that people have such wrong information. To clear things up: IT WAS NOT MYKAL'S INTENT TO HIT THE KID ON THE BICYCLE. What kind of person do you think intends to hit someone with a car? Mykal only meant to frosh with eggs, and after accidentally hitting the gr 9 - he did not "hit and run" as some say, but he got out and asked if the kid was okay - and the kid said he was fine.

判得一点都不重，他已经17岁了！

Those who threw eggs should be punished as well. That's a criminal offense (assault) regardless of who the targeted person was.

It's hard to believe this guy did not lose his license (suspended). What he did was reckless / dangerous driving. Using a car to chase someone down and throw eggs (thus not paying attention on driving) is a serious violation of Highway Traffic Act.

I wonder what the Police is doing, no fine, no suspension, no demerit points?

惩罚是必要的, 但没必要耽误孩子的学业.

我建议把Y的驾照没收了, 一年不让他开车, 可能更能教育他.

He has been charged by police (for failing to remain at scene). Hope more charges will be laid.
