哭!急!房屋保险不给续了!

早就听我多伦多的好友说过,有人claim三次保险,之后就被保险公司拒绝。如果不是火灾等较大损失,最好别claim。
 
不能claim的房屋保险要它干吗?光给保险公司送钱?
 
改业主,如果眼下夫妻不是共同业主的话。如果可以,改儿女为业主。
或者干脆卖房,租房没啥不好。

卖房没有保险,估计也不好卖。保险是跟房子,不跟屋主。
 
My understanding is, insurance is to insurance against the type of loss that you cannot afford, such as a total loss of house due to fire or structural collapse due to heavy wind.

For any losses I can afford, I would self-insure them (put aside monthly saving to settle them in case they happen).

如果有Mortgage呢?就必须保,不保Mortgage就没了吗?那去哪保啊?我以前的房子从来没有任何claim. 这个房子的claims都是accident (weather related, theft related, etc), 房子本身没什么问题, 但到哪说理去?谁让我无知,去麻烦保险公司大人。。。唉,只能去broker问问了。谁知道好的brokers?

唉,三岁小孩都知道保险公司是魔鬼要尽量躲,你们偏以为是冤大头要去惹!
accidents都不是借口,仍是屋主疏于防范的问题,这些不良记录都要跟主人(不是房子)N年的。

Mortgage贷款利息比别的低,就是因为有房子抵押。保险没了,这个抵押就命悬一线,银行原则上就不会贷款出去的。啥时候银行知道了,或在重续贷款时不见保险单,你将有麻烦被断贷款,所以要尽快解决。brokers就按电话簿挨个打过去啦。
 
昨天接到TD的通知房屋保险不给续了--11月中旬过期!因为过去三年有三个claims, 即使只有一个有payout ($5000 water damage), 另两个$0payout. 后悔不该上次刮大风吹翻屋顶瓦片call保险公司,因为实在找不到roof公司及时修,以为保险公司能派人修的快一点,实际情况不是这样,最后还是自己修的,但留下了记录。总之,是自己的愚蠢和无知造成的。记住,不是非常大的损失,绝对不能claim!打电话给State Farm, 说这种情况他们也不保。估计大的保险公司都这样。

怎么办啊,各位大侠,出出主意吧,有没有过类似经验,或知道有保险经纪受理这种特殊情况的?万分感谢!!!在线急等!


Here what you should do.
1) file complaint to TD Insurance Ombudsman and state your facts and what you would like to be done in writing
2) Keep all the correspondence between the TD insurance ombudsman in writing
3) if TD ombudsman can not help you then file a compliant to the Office of the Insurance Ombudsman of Financial Services Commission of Ontario. You need to attach all the written correspondence along with you complaint letter

TD网站说先通过Office Manager, 可能会back and forth for sometime. Hope it can be resolved before my insurance expired. 请问大侠处理过这种情况吗?多长时间搞定?

The Ombudsman will only become actively involved in a complaint when an office manager fails to resolve it to the satisfaction of all concerned. Matters referred to the Ombudsman that have not been reviewed and responded to by an office manager will be referred back to the office in question for review. These complaints will be monitored by the Ombudsman, but it remains the responsibility of the offices concerned to find a solution.
 
楼主提到claim三次但只有一次付了,另两次不付。不付的原话是什么? you claim is declined? 这个可是个比较严重的问题。人家很可能按规矩办的,两次decline就不续,可能是合理的。建议楼主再同时找找别的途径,别在TD一棵树上吊着。弄不好等到TD有结论时,你已经没时间再另外找了。

卖房与保险没一分钱关系。另外,俺再回答一次,保险很不幸是跟屋主走的。
房子有麻烦是人为(保险公司不信有上帝之手)的过失(Negligence),要长期惩罚的是这个户主,走到那罚到那。

如果你把房子相像成车子,就很好理解了。
 
don't waste too much time on this. Just go ahead to look for a new one. Insurance company is not a government department and it has no obligation to provide you a service...

找Ombudsman没用,而且时间不会短。
