Don't consider myself apple fans although I use quite a few apple products:

imac 27": main work horse at home. Love it for the speed and ease of use. It makes me want to kick my quad core Dell power PC running Windows at work ...

iphone: 3G (LD still used it) and two dead 3Gs (one water damage, one heat damage, long story). Has since switched to Android just for support of flash and no need to constantly jailbreak and unlock. And itunes drives me mad.

ipad: bought 2 and one for parents. They love it. I like most part of it except I hate the fact that they don't support flash web site.

As for Steve Jobs, I am a fan !

俺觉得苹果的问题就是：穷养儿子富养闺女的问题，瞎比方一下，我知道这句话的意思。

PC界就是穷养儿子，啥都免费，啥都open，结果呢，搞得现在硬件，软件工程师全都没饭吃，我虽然不反对open source，但是你要养整个产业链的话，是要有投入的，现在每个公司全部都变得抠门到火星去。软件全部免费的，硬件全部几年不更新，最后you got what you paid for。这就好比说，1cent打中国，你觉得质量能好到哪去呢？因为一分钱实在养活不了整个产业链，从电话卡客服，到VOIP供应商，到中国市话落地的费用，更何况中国电信还要收取很高的市话落地费。
谁说软件就越免费越好了？谁说你该用得起电脑？！好吧，也许你该用得起电脑，你不觉得今天一个$25电脑，明天一个$50电脑很搞吗？也许你该用得起电脑，可到周末看看，谁说电脑要更新到，好好的P4电脑，每周末大街上当垃圾扔掉一批？真烧包。PC一台300块，那么一个大的LCD屏幕卖200块我也觉得不大对，觉得太便宜了，质量就没有了，只好坏了扔掉。我到加拿大第一台的电脑，就是因为质量太次了，CD放到光驱里，竟然高速运转会爆炸。
要环保，大家不用节约walmart的塑胶袋了，还不如抓几个乱扔电脑和彩电的人打屁屁。这些彩电27寸，30寸好好的就扔了，全部更新成LCD，嗯，该打屁屁。


这苹果呢，就是富养女儿，买着就是贵，但是用这便宜，我06年买的iMac,今天跑Snow leopard照样没问题，中间只升级过一次内存，别的什么都没动。算下来一年，当时差不多性能的Dell PC的均价是1000，iMac 17是1300，这5，6年下来，也没多花几个钱。有了充足的利润，才能考虑漂亮和质量，我就是觉得今天这个板板，明天那个tab，全部都会死掉，因为实在太难看了。我才不要买。有了充足的利润才能考虑软件质量和易用性。

每个PC软件的小工程师，都被老板逼着写feature，每个电脑小工程师都写出来那种一堆堆严重error message，然后一个大大的OK的message box，我每次看到这种dialog就会觉得写的人脑残。就这样还不断消减工资，裁员，因为太便宜了，然后还有一群人，没事坐家里写出来软件，免费给你用，你什么时候见过医生免费给你开刀？修车行免费给你修车？

嗯，俺倒是觉得好多人好土，连装13都还不够档次，嗯嗯嗯，好吧，我周围的好多人这样，别人没有。你请TA去星巴克，经常跟踩到TA后脚跟一样，哎呦，你还喝咖啡。多伦多就好得多，大家没事聚会喝茶喝咖啡都很自然。
你说的那些都是伪咖啡爱好者，没必要搭理。

缩写是习惯了，不是歧义，别误会。
我那句话的意思不是说去了starbucks就是装13，而是说有些人觉得去了starbucks就怎么怎么样了。是用来对比“用apple是一种生活方式”这句话的。你得联系上下文的看。

Seeing what you guys have, I feel I'm probably another-type-of-human.

I really respect Mr. Jobs and am aware of most of the Apple products. Yet the fact is: I currently don't own or use any Apple product. Not due to affordability, it's mainly because of perceived low-performance-to-price-ratio and Apple's once stubborn attitude against popular things like USB-port and Adobe Flash.

OS is definitely a big part of the equation. It just seems for Windows, no matter how fast of HW you throw at it, it manage to slow it down. XP is like that and so is Win 7.

Mac is incompatible with 90% software on earth. Moot point.

For argument's sake, Linux > Mac any day.

it depends on what "software" you are referring to. If it's engineering tools or Game, etc., I agree. But for average Joe like myself who just do some photos, videos and other simple staff, Mac has plenty of software for it. And if once in a while I need to use Windows tool, i still have the vmware.

Not much knowledge about Linux although I use Linux box for some apps on daily basis.
