The Paraguay Health Declaration states that all residents of the country are entitled to free health care services. Private health insurance is not covered by the declaration. It also does not stipulate the kind of care that would be provided or the procedure for obtaining such care. Thus, one should not be surprised if they find hospitals and nursing homes listed here, even if they do not have private health insurance. What is meant by this, however, is that the health coverage provided by the government of Paraguay takes care of its people, irrespective of whether they have private health insurance.
