Thank you both for your help. It's for a friend of mine in China. His daughter received offers from a few universities in Canada and US to study PhD in computer science. Waterloo is one of them.

Does anyone know about the ranking of the Computer Science program at Unversity of Waterloo? Someone told me it is No 1 in North America, but I doubt it. No 1 in Canada is very likely. Thank you for your help.
