Crown wants man who brutalized girlfriend declared a dangerous offender

Crown prosecutors are seeking the attorney general’s consent to pursue a dangerous offender designation for a man with a long and violent history of abusing his girlfriends. John Cox, 48, was found guilty in April of aggravated assault and weapons offences after he struck a woman in the nose, punched her seven or eight times and pulled her hair so hard a clump came out.
