Converting one-way streets on agenda of Centretown’s new community design plan

Changing some major downtown streets from one way to handle traffic in two directions is an idea contained in a new community design plan for Centretown, but it’s not yet clear when any streets might be converted. The one-way movement of cars along arterials such as Metcalfe, O’Connor, Kent and Lyon is aimed at helping commuters and moving as many vehicles as possible through Centretown at rush hour, says the plan, prepared by Urban Strategies Inc. with input from the community and city staff.
