Good morning Stonebridge Community members,

The Association, along with several dedicated parents, have been fighting tirelessly to get the proposal amended in order to keep all of our children together in the same school and maintain the Stonebridge community as one.

Donna Blackburn is concerned mostly with Half Moon Bay. She is not concerned with Stonebridge as a whole. It is important for Stonebridge residents to come out and support ALL of Stonebridge, as this is the community that WE have built.

To those living in Stonebridge West, YOU bought and paid good money to live in Stonebridge NOT Half Moon Bay, and unfortunately, if you don't come out and support the community then you will be considered as part of Half Moon Bay as far as the Public School Board is concerned, and this will affect property values.

We wanted to let you know that we have heard from Mark Fisher (Trustee for the East Side) and he says it is EXTREMELY important to have as many people as possible there on Tuesday evening (December 20th). We are to be there at 6:45 p.m. to sign up on the list 'to ask questions/comment'. He doesn't think it's too late to change this decision and he has amended the final proposal for presentation on Tuesday, which addresses 1) concerns about busing JK/SK kids to Parkwood Hills, and 2) Splitting up Stonebridge (see attached).

Date: December 20th
Time: 6:45 p.m.
Location: 133 Greenbank Road.

The Association has done all we can in fighting this, we now need YOU to stand up and show that it is something you think is worth fighting for. Please spread the word to anyone and everyone.

Sincerely,

SCA

Barrhaven Program and Attendance Boundary Study

It is recommended:

A. That attendance boundaries and programs for the new Chapman Mills elementary school be approved as per Appendix 5 of Report No. 11-189, with the school formed in September 2012 with a grade 1 to 4 grade structure, advancing to JK to 5 for September 2013.

B. That effective September 2012, grades 1 to 4 of the new Chapman Mills elementary school be accommodated temporarily at the former Parkwood Hills Public School site on Tiverton Drive until the new Chapman Mills elementary school building is completed.

C. That effective September 2012, JK to SK students designated to attend to the new Chapman Mills elementary school be permitted to remain at their current location until September 2013, at which time they will transfer to the new school.

D. That the grade structures at Barrhaven Public School and Cedarview Middle School temporarily become JK-4 and 5-8 for the school years 2012-2013, 2013-2014, and 2014-2015.

E. That revised attendance boundaries for Barrhaven Public School, Farley Mowat Public School, Jockvale Elementary School, Mary Honeywell Elementary School and Cedarview Middle School be approved as per the amended Appendix 6 of Report No. 11-189, effective September 2012.

F. That revised attendance boundaries for John McCrae Secondary School and Longfields-Davidson Heights Secondary School be approved as per Appendix 7 of Report No. 11-189.

G. That current Barrhaven Public School JK to 4 3 students (2011-2012) residing in the Half Moon Bay boundary area remain at Barrhaven and that their siblings be given a one-time option to choose to attend that school. New elementary students residing in Half Moon Bay will be directed to Jockvale elementary school for JK to grade 5 as per Appendix 6. In 2015, it is expected that these students would be directed to a new elementary school in Half Moon Bay.

H. That current Barrhaven Public School JK to 4 3 students (2011-2012) residing in the Stonebridge (west and east) boundary area remain at Barrhaven Public School and that their siblings be given a one-time option to choose to attend that school. In 2015, due consideration should be given to directing these students to a new elementary school in Half Moon Bay.

I. That current Barrhaven Public School JK to 4 3 students (2011-2012) residing in the Barrhaven Mews boundary area remain at Barrhaven Public School and that their siblings be given a one-time option to attend that school. New elementary students residing in the Barrhaven Mews area will be directed to Mary Honewell elementary school in September 2012 as per Appendix 6.

J. That current Barrhaven Public School grade 4 students (2011-2012) residing in the Half Moon Bay, Barrhaven Mews, Stonebridge (West and East), and Hearts Desire boundary areas be directed to Cedarview Middle School for grade 5 in September 2012. New elementary students residing in these boundary areas will be directed to either Jockvale elementary school, Mary Honeywell public school, the new Chapman Mills elementary school or Cedarview Middle school for grade 5 in accordance with the boundaries set out in Appendix 6.

K. That preferred busing be provided to those students attending the new Chapman Mills elementary school while it is temporarily accommodated at the former Parkwood Hills Public School site on Tiverton Drive.

L. That busing be provided to and from existing childcare locations for those students whose existing childcare arrangement will no longer be within their designated school’s attendance boundary for September 2012 as a direct result of this study’s approved boundary changes, until such time as a new childcare arrangement is made for that student within their designated school attendance boundary or until the end of the 2012- 2013 school year.

M. That an addition to Longfields-Davidson Heights Secondary School be made a capital priority and that preliminary design and site work be commenced.

N. That a new elementary school in the Half Moon Bay portion of South Nepean be reconfirmed as a capital priority in order to ensure that funding is provided in a fashion which would permit a 2015 planned opening.

O. That staff examine the feasibility of introducing the Full-Day Kindergarten program at the new Chapman Mills elementary school for September 2013, one year earlier than currently scheduled.

It looks this changed since last time I saw this from website.

Jockvale rd.
