Ottawa student dies in crash at Meaford

A 20-year-old Ottawa student is dead after a single-vehicle crash near her hometown of Grey Highlands early this morning south of Owen Sound, Ont. The woman was travelling westbound on Grey Road 18 in Meaford when she lost control of her vehicle. The car went into the ditch and struck trees, OPP investigators said. She was taken to Grey Bruce Highlands Services Hospital where she was pronounced dead. A male passenger, also from Grey Highlands, was also taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
