East Block makeover begins without controversy

While the restoration of the West Block on Parliament Hill has been dogged by controversy, work has quietly started on the East Block. A $6.6-million contract was awarded last June to Lari Construction of Ottawa for the complete rehabilitation of the Northwest Tower. Work began last August and is expected to be completed in 2013.
