OTTAWA — A proposed condominium complex near Baseline and Greenbank roads won’t make financial sense if the city government caps the number of units allowed there at 334, says the project’s lead planner. The Redwoods complex by Greatwise Developments Corp. has been through multiple iterations over the years, beginning with a proposal for 20-storey buildings with more than 500 units, in an area zoned for four-storey ones, before city council approved a 12-storey one and several shorter ones that were expected to hold 334 units. But now that the project is in the next, more detailed planning stage, Greatwise has proposed buildings that fit the same zoning but contain 590 smaller condo units. They’d replace a complex of two-storey townhouses.
