As Melissa Sauder sat through her sister’s funeral, she had yet to discover that she’d conceived her second child the day after her sister became Ottawa’s seventh homicide victim of the year. Sauder’s sister, Leeanne Lawson, was found dead in a parking lot near King Edward Avenue in September.
