An 89-year-old widow says she was deceived into selling her Old Ottawa South house to a developer who plans to tear it down and build four houses on the site. Jean Switzer spent 59 happy years at 34 Brighton Ave., which fronts onto the Rideau River and Brighton Beach Park. After turning down offers from two developers, Switzer sold the house last month to a couple who, she believed, planned to renovate and live in the house.
