City abandons plan to widen Bronson Avenue

Bronson Avenue will not be widened when it is ripped up to replace old sewers and water mains, partly because moving Hydro installations would be expensive and difficult, city staff say. The city’s plans to widen the road had led to concern from residents, community groups and the area’s councillor, Diane Holmes, who said Bronson is already bad for pedestrians and widening the roadway would only make drivers go faster.
