Ottawa firm lands $1.1M contract to design bridge near Pembroke

OTTAWA — The federal government has awarded a $1.1-million engineering design contract to Delcan Corporation, of Ottawa, that will lead to the replacement of the Des Allumettes Bridge that connects Pembroke to Allumettes Island in West Quebec. “The Des Allumettes Bridge is an important component of Pembroke’s infrastructure, as it provides a vital link between the communities and industries located on both sides of the Ottawa River,” said Public Works Minister Rona Ambrose in a news release.
