Laurier reopens after Hazmat scare

OTTAWA — Police have reopened Laurier Avenue between Metcalfe and O’Connor streets after the fire department’s Hazmat team cleared a suspicious package that had been found in an office building. The hazmat call came at about 9:30 a.m. when a worker on the 12th floor of the office at 219 Laurier Ave. complained of eye irritation, possible from an evelope on his desk.
