OTTAWA — Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is probing a police shooting early Wednesday morning that killed a 33-year-old man in Maitland, Ont., about five kilometres east of Brockville. The Ontario Provincial Police were called to home in Augusta Township in the early hours Wednesday, but by the time officers arrived, the man had fled into the woods.
