May 16 update: Good news, procrastinators! VIA Rail has extended their summer seat sale. You now have until 11:59PM on May 17 to book your fares and take advantage of the 50% discount. Originally posted May 8: VIA Rail has a new sale launching on May 10 but they are giving their Facebook fans early access! Right now, book your summer travel to save 50% off the adult regular fare in all service classes. Unlike some of their past sales, this offer is running for travel across Canada.
To book your tickets, you'll need to head to the Promotions tab on the VIA Rail Facebook page. Select your trip types, dates, and then search.
This offer becomes "public" on May 10, so book now to get the better fares. In the Quebec-Windsor corridor, this sale includes adult regular fare in Economy and Business class. For East-West travel, the discount applies to the adult high-season regular fare in Sleeper, Sleeper Plus and Touring classes (though you may want to compare prices with the Express Deals if you're flexible on dates).
This promo is valid for travel by August 29. As always, you need to book your fare at least three days prior to departure.
