Hello Families,
The Kanata Research Park Family Centre is a licensed, not for profit Early Learning and Care Centre. We have programs for children from the ages of 18 months to 10 years of age. If you are interested in learning more about our programs , please visit our website at www.krpfamilycentre.com.
If your child was born in the year 2007, they are eligible for Senior Kindergarten in the province of Ontario. The Family Centre currently has openings within our Senior Kindergarten class for the upcoming school year
2012 - 2013.
Our kindergarten programs are an English full day program that is offered in partnership with the Ottawa Carleton District School Board. This means that we have an onsite school board teacher from Roland Michener Public School, who offers the JK Ontario Curriculum in the morning and the SK Ontario Curriculum in the afternoon. Within the Senior Kindergarten program your child will also have 20 minutes of French delivered by a French teacher from Roland Michener each day as well. The other portion of the day is complimented by 2 Registered Early Childhood Educators, who offer a continuum of learning following the same curriculum, hence offering your child and family a truly seamless day. We provide 2 snacks a day as well as a nutritious lunch - The 2012 fees for kindergarten are $197.50 / week and this includes full days on PD days as well as one week at Christmas and March Break. Note: we are closed one week at Christmas and all stat holidays.
If you are planning to have your child enter Early French Immersion (EFI)at the grade one level, the Family Centre offers a French summer program which is geared towards preparing the children to enter EFI in grade one. Our summer French program is recognized by the Ottawa Carleton District School Board and the children who attend our French summer program are able to register for EFI in grade one. This program is a specialized French program that is only offered to the children who attend our SK program. It runs for the entire summer between SK and grade one.

Please note: The Family Centre also provides sibling priority to all the attending children within the Family Centre.
