Gatineau shopowner foils robbery by pepper-spraying suspects

A convenience store owner foiled an attempted robbery in Gatineau Tuesday when he pepper-sprayed the knife-wielding men trying to rob him. The incident occurred at the Ja.c.line depanneur on Rue Laramee when two men wearing masks and brandishing knives came in and demanded the owner open the cash register. He refused and instead fired back with a can of bear spray.
