The RCMP Canadian Sunset Ceremonies kick off tonight and run through to Saturday, June 30.
Each night you'll see the Musical Ride a mounted arms display and hear from the combined pipe bands of the RCMP, Ottawa Police and the Central Band of the Canadian Forces.
Corporal Martin Kohnen trains the musical riders and says people keep coming because it ties them to Canadian History and the roots of the RCMP.
"The origins from that does go back to the old cavalry movements, very much so, certainly it's enhanced now for show, certainly, but at the end of the day, that's where it comes from," said Kohnen, referring to the days when under British Command Canadian Forces went to battle with horses and the original Northwest Mounted Police trained in cavalry moves.
The ceremonies begin every night this week at 7:30 and they are free but donations will be accepted for the RCMP Foundation.
Organizers recommend you bring a blanket or a lawn chair and be sure to dress for the elements.
