Dad charged with impaired driving after baby nearly drowns when car rolls into water

OTTAWA — The father of an eight-month old baby has been charged with impaired driving after he rolled his car into a water filled ditch, nearly drowning his eight-month old son who was in the car. Police were called to the scene at about 11 p.m. Tuesday after witnesses saw the car drive off Cléo Fournier Road in La Pêche, roll over and land in water. The panicked occupants of the car were able to save the baby from drowning.
