No place for Mohamed

A few weeks ago, late on a Friday afternoon, Mohamed Ahmed made a break for it. The 25-year-old slipped away from the Civic campus of The Ottawa Hospital — his home of five months — and hopped on a Greyhound bus. Ahmed, a tall, burly young man with developmental delays, brain injuries and bi-polar disorder, was admitted to The Ottawa Hospital last February after a bad reaction to multiple medications. He’s stable now and should be discharged, but there’s nowhere for him to go.
