City, construction firm charged for illegal discharge into waterway

OTTAWA — The city and a private builder are facing five charges under the Ontario Water Resources Act stemming from a $45-million project to build a large water main to Kanata. Charges were laid Friday against the city and Colautti Construction Ltd. alleging improper monitoring and the discharge of sediment into the Stillwater Creek during the water main construction project.
