Man charged with impaired driving in Transitway crash

OTTAWA — A 35-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving after crashing his vehicle into a wall on the Transitway near the Ottawa River Parkway on Aug. 6. Witnesses said the car drove onto the Transitway in front of a packed 95 bus around 8:20 p.m. on Monday. They said the bus driver honked the horn of his vehicle. The car went into a retaining wall and then turned sideways, blocking the Transitway in both directions west of the Westboro station.
