A historic stone carving has been discovered within the walls of the former Bank of Montreal building across from Parliament Hill. The 19th-century sculpture — depicting the bank’s coat of arms — was found by workers removing drywall from the main-floor annex of the building, which is undergoing a $66-million restoration.
