Suspicious death in Gracefield may be linked to police chase

OTTAWA — Montreal police’s major crime section has taken over the investigation of the suspicious death of a 51-year-old man whose body was found in wooded area of Gracefield on Thursday morning. Investigators are looking to see whether the death is related to a police pursuit that began in Maniwaki at 9:45 p.m. the night before. Sûreté du Québec officers in Maniwaki were trying to stop a man riding a motorcycle with the lights off. The motorcyclist refused to stop for police, speeding off on a bike trail in the woods where police could not follow.
