At exactly 3 p.m. in the ByWard Market, there were tassels, there were feathers, there were garters, there were winks. Pedestrians strolling through William Street near the Sugar Mountain store on Saturday were treated to a sweet surprise when Ottawa burlesque dancers presented a “flesh mob,” similar to a flash mob, but with less clothes. A man pulled out a boom box and corset-clad “headmistress” Holly Sin walked nonchalantly to the centre of the street and struck a pose. Nine girls joined her, teasing and smiling as they danced, legs kicking high into the air. Brightly coloured clothes came off — with sass, of course — to reveal decadent undergarments. Passersby did double-takes, whipping out phones to take pictures. Three minutes later, as abruptly as the show began, the women dispersed.
