Ottawa River Parkway expected to be renamed for Sir John A. Macdonald

John Baird, Member of Parliament for Ottawa West-Nepean, is expected to announce Wednesday morning the renaming of the Ottawa River Parkway for Canada’s first prime minister, Sir John A. Macdonald. The 11 a.m. announcement would be the latest in a series of initiatives from the federal government to mark the upcoming 200th anniversary of Macdonald’s birth in 1815.
