Agreement to cover rural services replacing Para Transpo

OTTAWA — City transit officials have reached a funding agreement giving almost $380,000 to three community support agencies that replace Para Transpo service between rural addresses. Following approval last fall from the city’s transit commission, Para Transpo no longer offers trips between rural addresses, focusing instead on service between rural and urban areas. The commission approved putting some of the rural Para Transpo budget toward expanding transportation services provided by the Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre, Rural Ottawa South Support Services and Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre.
