Senior Ottawa planner fired in city hall reorganization

OTTAWA — The city’s lead thinker on urban-planning policy is out of a job in a management reorganization. Richard Kilstrom, one of three senior staff to be dismissed Monday afternoon, had been in charge of urban design, community design plans meant to guide new neighbourhoods and redevelopments in old ones, environmental policy, statistical analyses and master plans for such items as the city’s long-term infrastructure needs.
