Former Ottawa journalist to give Arab Spring talk

OTTAWA — As an Associated Press reporter last October, Hadeel Al-Shalchi recalls having to flee Libya after a Facebook page spread the rumour that she was receiving funds from Moammar Gadhafi. The former Ottawa journalist was in Sirte where rebels were still trying to topple Gadhafi loyalists when she started receiving threats from people who had seen the page.
