OC Transpo recently sold about $4.4 million worth of obsolete bus parts for $47,000 after it couldn’t find anyone to buy them at a better price. The parts were no longer needed after council in 2010 approved buying 226 articulated buses at a discount. Bus company New Flyer offered the buses to the city after a deal to provide them to Chicago fell through.
