OTTAWA — The loss of a federal funding program that’s set to expire would leave a $700,000 hole for Ottawa Police to fill, says a report to the service’s board. For five years, the police service has received that amount through the federal government’s police officers recruitment fund, which helps pay for 10 officers. The service has provided $300,000 to cover the remaining costs.
