‘It felt like an earthquake’: Garbage truck smashes into South Ottawa home

OTTAWA — A garbage-truck driver was treated for minor injuries Friday after his vehicle crashed into the garage of a South Ottawa home, startling an 80-year-old woman who was watching television in her living room. The impact sent Luciana Nardi’s Toyota, parked in the garage, crashing into the laundry room and bathroom at her home on Southland Crescent near Karsh Drive shortly before 2 p.m.
